Understanding Your Severance Pay:
Clarification of Payout Provisions

Fellow members,

A statement in this presentation regarding current severance payout provisions requires clarification. At the 7:30 mark, I point out that they provide for a pay-out for departing indeterminate (but not term) employees with at least ten years of service.

Please note that this ten year requirement only applies to resignations - not retirements. Instead, retirees can receive severance pay if they are entitled to an immediate annuity or to an immediate annual allowance under the Public Service Superannuation Act.

In Solidarity,
Debi Daviau
